Privacy Policy

a) Information you provide directly

• Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address or phone number (used for OTP-based login).
• Profile information: Name, bio, and profile photo that you optionally add to your profile.
• Resume content: All information you enter in the resume builder — work experience, education, skills, contact details, etc.
• Payment details: Payments are processed entirely by Razorpay. We do not store your card numbers, UPI IDs, or banking credentials.
• Contact form messages: When you contact us via the contact form, we receive your name, email, and message.

b) Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform.
• Device & browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL.
• Cookies & session tokens: We use HTTP-only cookies to maintain your login session securely.

• To create and manage your account and resume drafts.
• To send you OTP login codes via email or SMS.
• To process your payments through Razorpay.
• To respond to your support or contact queries.
• To improve our product, fix bugs, and analyse usage trends.
• To send you transactional emails (e.g. download confirmations). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on MongoDB Atlas (cloud). We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Login sessions are managed via signed, HTTP-only JWT cookies that are not accessible to JavaScript.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique email address and to log out when using shared devices.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We share data only with:

• Razorpay — to process payments. Subject to Razorpay's own Privacy Policy.
• Firebase (Google) — for phone number OTP authentication.
• Anthropic — resume content is sent to Claude AI for AI-writing features. Anthropic does not retain this data for training.
• Law enforcement — if required to comply with a valid legal obligation.

We use one essential cookie (authToken) to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent login from working.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data via your Profile page.
• Delete your account and all associated data — email us at eresumeslive@gmail.com.
• Export your resume data by downloading your PDFs.

We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.

We retain your account and resume data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. payment records).

eResume.live is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
